Seiko Power Design Project HHK002 Pink Panda Chronograph – Limited Edition

The Seiko HHK002 takes the “panda” chronograph nickname literally, and makes it pink. It comes from Seiko’s Power Design Project, where Seiko’s designers get to explore playful ideas. The design started as a concept at Seiko’s Incredibly Specialized Watch exhibition in 2024. Designer Kiyotaka Sakai came up with it after showing his panda-loving son a regular panda-dial chronograph. Now it’s a production watch, limited to just 2,000 pieces worldwide.

The panda is built into the watch itself. The two oval subdials are the panda’s sleepy eyes, and the rounded chronograph pushers are its ears. The soft pink colors are a nod to newborn pandas, which are born pink. Even the tachymeter joins in: Seiko says a panda running flat out for two minutes would read 30 km/h on the scale.

Behind the fun design is a fully working chronograph. Seiko’s Caliber 8T61 quartz movement times events up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments and adds a small seconds hand. It’s accurate to ±15 seconds per month and runs about three years on a battery.

The 43mm case is 14.6mm thick, but its short 44.1mm lug-to-lug length helps it sit comfortably on the wrist. It’s fitted with Hardlex crystal and comes on a cow leather strap. The case back is engraved “LIMITED EDITION.” It’s designed for both men and women, and it’s a great collector’s piece or gift for any panda fan.
