The Seiko 5 Sports HDB005 gives the SKX design a dressier twist. It’s built on the SKX series, inspired by one of Seiko’s best-known sports watches. Seiko has paired a deep green dial and matching green bezel with pink gold-colored hands, indices, and markings. The result is a sports watch that feels calm and a little luxurious, and one that works just as well with a blazer as with a T-shirt.

The 42.5mm stainless steel case carries a unidirectional rotating bezel for timing, and the dial is protected by curved Hardlex crystal. A day-date window at 3 o’clock sits beneath the Seiko 5 logo, and LumiBrite on the hands and indices keeps everything readable in the dark. It comes on a stainless steel bracelet with a double-lock clasp for extra security.

Inside is Seiko’s Caliber 4R36 automatic movement with 24 jewels and about 41 hours of power reserve. It winds itself as you wear it and can also be wound by hand, and a hacking seconds hand lets you set the time precisely. You can see the movement at work through the see-through screw case back.
